Each year, Serangoon Garden Secondary School offers the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) Programme to our Secondary 3 Normal (Technical) students.

The NFTE programme is an entrepreneurship programme from the United States, which has been running for more than 29 years, empowering more than 700,000 young people across the globe. It teaches business concepts through games and hands-on activities, talks by local entrepreneurs and visits to corporate partners.

At the end of the programme, the students develop individual business plans with guidance from teacher-facilitators, external trainers from Halogen Foundation Singapore and experts from our corporate business partner, Swiss banking giant, UBS. They present their plans to a panel comprising industry experts and our Principal, and the best student(s) go on to compete with students from other schools in the programme.

The NFTE programme builds students’ self-esteem, confidence in public speaking, and their ability to think critically. This will equip students with the necessary skills as they prepare to enter the workforce of tomorrow.

Well done to the 3NT cohort of 2018 for demonstrating perseverance and diligence in completing their business proposals!
